The Altered Landscapes are an extension of a
project done while in graduate school. The general concept
was that as people
enter altered states of consciousness they visualize
the world in a different way. In a
course that I took on
Self- Hypnosis we
discussed the processes of entering
that altered state,
part of which involved recalling a specific time or place
and then
visualizing
that time. Most of the
people in the course described that act as "if seeing those moments played
out as if on
a movie
screen in their head."
It is those "screens" and "states of consciousness" that this work is about.
